7/3/2004 - Law Firm

Message: Houssiere, Durant & Houssiere, LLP, a well-known personal injury law firm in Houston, Texas, has recently begun investigations of the health problems suffered at Camp Lejeune. For the past 3 years, we have been handling cases involving extensive TCE contamination of the drinking water in a town outside Houston. In addition, we are also examining the health problems from a medical/scientific stand point. We are interested in speaking with the victims from Camp Lejeune who meet specific criteria. At the present time, we can only work with people with the following illnesses- these illnesses must have been diagnosed by a physician- Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, esophageal carcinoma, liver cancer, kidney cancer, and children born with congenital heart defects, developmental spinal cord, clefts and brain problems like spina bifida, anencephaly, cleft lips and palates, and childhood leukemias and lymphomas. In addition, they must have filed a claim with the military within two years of finding out about the problem. There must have been documented exposure to elevated levels of TCE in your drinking water. This means we must have evidence that they (or the mother, while she was pregnant) lived in an area of the base where the contamination levels of TCE were high, preferably above 50 parts per billion, and exposed for a period of time greater than 1 year. We also want to know about anyone who lived in the area of the camp where the TCE levels were above 1000 ppb. We are interested in knowing about anyone that has passed away from the above mentioned diseases, or if a fetus did not survive beyond 7 months gestation. Also, we want to speak with anyone who has knowledge about the use and disposal of chemical contaminants, including TCE, at Camp Lejeune, from the late 1950's through the 1990's. Please contact Mr. Charles Houssiere or Dr. Wexler at 1-888-881-8100 or e-mail at choussi@hdhtex.com. UPDATE
